Casting
The second method is casting with engineering resins. It starts with milling of a mold in plastic or aluminum, and then casting the element out of resin. The greatest advantage of this method is undoubtedly the possibility of cheap duplication of subsequent parts.
The resins are characterized by:
- very low shrinkage (from 0.1 to 0.2%)
- high curing speed
- durability during storage
- high mechanical resistance
- ease of processing
- the possibility of covering with varnishes
- high smoothness of the obtained surfaces
